It is possible that this is the picture the artist mentioned he was working on in his San Marino studio in his diary for Monday, 30 January 1933, where he says that he began a rose painting in a green vase; and the following day, Tuesday, 31 January 1933, he intends ‘to put diverse coloured roses, yellow and pink, into this picture (like Talisman)’.
This picture may be that exhibited at Wildenstein, New York, in 1937 as: ’34. Apple Green Vase with Roses and Cup’.
