Certainly the wife of a banker who was President and Director of the National Bank of Commerce, the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States, and the Union Bank of Newark, and who died on November 6, 1934. She was Miss Sheda Torbert, daughter of Charles J. Torbert of San Francisco, according to The New York Times 15 January 1899. In 1901 she is recorded as living at 45 West 97th Street, and in 1903 her husband sold 11 East 56th Street. Valentine P. Snyder was involved with Muller-Ury’s friend Gates McGarrah in the Clearing House Association in 1910.
