Portrait of an Unknown Little Girl (Mabel Satterlee?)
Description:
Pastel of a fair haired little girl dressed in white with a blue bow in her hair, and the outlines of a pekinese dog (59 x 50.5 cm inside frame). Unsigned apparently.

The Müller family always thought this was of Lina Müller, but the style is somewhat later to be of her; it does bear a resemblance to the known portrait of Mabel Satterlee seated on the lap of her grandfather J. Pierpont Morgan which dates from 1906; Mabel Satterlee was certainly painted alone but that was evidently an oval oil portrait.
