Madonna & Child (The Havemeyer Chapel)

According to a letter to Nadea Loftus from H.O. Havemeyer dated May 26, 1960 (original in the editor’s possession) a Madonna by Muller-Ury hung in the family chapel of the house at Mahwah, New Jersey. A photograph in the artist’s third scrapbook, in 1919, shows a panelled chapel with a half-length Madonna with the child clinging to her neck.
