The sitter was possibly the older sister of Emil Jacob Stehli (1868-1945), namely Margaretha Emerentia Stehli (who married Maximilian Josef “Max” Frölicher) who was born in Zurich, Switzerland, on February 15, 1864, and who died on March 21, 1955 in Zurich, Switzerland.
