Red-pink roses in a large blue Chinese vase with lunette of figures. Oil on canvas, 30” x 25”, signed lower right ‘A. Muller-Ury 1931’. On the stretcher, in faded pencil in the artist’s hand, it reads ‘Powder Blue Chinese vase with Famille Verte panel – Kang-Hsi period.’

The Roses here are painted with great freedom, with large white highlights on the petals.
