According to the New York Herald, in its article called ‘Mr. Muller-Ury’s Summer Abroad’, the artist executed this portrait in Andermatt. This was repeated in the Urner Wochenblatt. The sitter was said to come from Naples.

Probably the wife of Don Francesco Paolo Caracciolo-Carafa (born Naples 1880, died 1916), Conte Rocco Stella Patrizio Napoletano; 1st Principe Caracciolo-Carafa, 7th Duca di Traetto, Conte di Spiano-Sujo, Castronorato, Moranola, Forli, Montenegro, Conna e Castelnuovo Paterno dal 1909 per successione dell’avo; 13th Marchese di Sant’Eramo, 9th Marchese di Cervinara, 10th Marchese di Mottola, Signore di Rotondi, Campora e Palagianello. He had married his cousin Donna Anna Caracciolo in Naples 23 April 1904 (born Naples 28 February 1884, died 6 May 1972), Principessa Caracciolo, 12th Marchesa di Sant’Eramo, 9th Marchesa di Cervinara, 10th Marchesa di Mottola, Signora di Rotondi, Campora e Palagianello e Grande di Spagna.

The current holder of the title is Don Giovanni Francesco (born Naples 14 November 1938), 3rd Principe Caracciolo-Carafa, 9th Duca di Traetto, 15th Marchese di Sant’Eramo, 12th Marchese di Cervinara, 12th Marchese di Mottola etc.
