Painted c.1920. There is a strong possibility that this is the portrait of Charlotte Whiting Havemeyer’s French Bulldog mentioned in a letter from H. O. Havemeyer to Nadea Dragonette Loftus on 26 May 1960 (editor’s possession). When the artist’s friend H. O. Havemeyer died in 1965 some of the artist’s pictures were dispersed.
