Infant Jesus with the Cross (copy after Heinrich R.)

Description:
A picture of Christ as a child, leaning on a cross, three stars in the sky above his head. Oil on canvas, 23.1/2″ x 19.1/4″ (59.6 cm x 49 cm), signed and dated lower right ‘Muller Adolfo 24/2 1881, nach Heinrich R.’ The stretcher bears the stamp of Emma Müller.

Provenance:
Emma Müller (the artist’s oldest sister) to her death 1933; returned to Hospental at that time.
