A photograph of Mamie Hill c. 1890.

 

Mary Francis Hill (1869–1947), was the oldest child and oldest daughter of James J. Hill. She married Samuel Hill of Washington D.C. and Seattle. Samuel Hill (no relation) was an executive at the Great Northern Railway when he married Mary Hill.

The inscription is to James Norman Hill (1870–1932) of New York, the second child of James J. Hill.
