The sitter came from St. Louis. At the National Arts Club, 119, East 19th Street an exhibition of members works was held in October 1908, and it may be that the picture Muller-Ury exhibited there described as ‘Girl with Muff’ is actually Miss Carr, as it is described in an unnamed cutting in the artist’s papers as ‘…an oval portrait of a girl with her cheek buried in a muff…’
